New Cheese and Butter Factory to be built near Voronezh in 2019

EkoNiva, the major producer of milk in Voronezh oblast, is going to build a cheese and butter factory in the village of Shchuchye, Liski district in 2019. It was announced after the meeting of Stefan Duerr, Head of EkoNiva-APK, and Aleksander Gusev, Governor of Voronezh oblast. The media centre of the regional government adds that the investment will amount to 780 million rubles.

According to the official press-release, the factory is going to be commissioned in 2019. The range of products will include whole-milk products, cheese and butter. The factory will have the capacity of 60 tonnes of milk per day, and the investment level will be about 780 million rubles.

Shchuchye hosts an EkoNiva milk processing plant with the capacity of 30 tonnes milk per day. There is another one in Anna village. This plant, with the capacity of 300 tonnes per day, was bought from PepsiCo in 2017.

In 2020 Anna dairy plant is going to be renovated. The amount of milk processing will be increased to 440 tonnes per day, new departments of curd and whey powder production will be added to the existing premises. EkoNiva-APK is going to spend 1.7 billion rubles for the renovation.

The Holding also has plans to build yet another dairy plant for the production of cheese and baby food. The plant with the capacity of processing 2 thousand tonnes of milk per day will be located in the city of Bobrov, Voronezh oblast.

According to the media centre of the local government, EkoNiva-APK is currently producing 780 tonnes of milk per day, which amounts to 45% of the total milk production in the region. Within 3 coming years, the company is going to expand its operation and add another 12 dairies to the existing 8 farms to be able to reach the full capacity of the processing plants The construction of 4 farming units for 2.8 thousand head each has already been finished. The farms are located in the villages of Bodeyevka, Korshevo, Dobrino and Bobrov. The commissioning is planned for the beginning of 2019.
