On 22 November, Voronezh hosted the presentation ceremony of Golden Clover, Russia’s only independent award for the best dairy production. EkoNiva’s products won prizes in three categories. EKONIVA 3.2% kefir was announced the best fermented dairy product and earned the Audience Choice Award. The Best Yoghurt title went to the Fitness Line strawberry yoghurt. Nelya Ponomaryova, Chairman of the Civic Chamber of Voronezh oblast, opened the event by welcoming the guests in Voronezh oblast and wishing the nominees good luck.
Having the floor during the ceremony, Viktor Logvinov, Deputy Chairman of Voronezh oblast, underlined the transparency of the competition and the credibility of the jury.
‘The organisers of the Golden Clover award are unbiased people who judge the products of every region on their merits’, stressed the official.
The founder of the award Mikhail Mishchenko, Director of the Dairy Market Research Centre, emphasised the importance of such a competition not only for producers, but also for consumers.
‘We popularise the dairy industry. Unfortunately, this production sector is facing difficulties — it’s under great social pressure, all the attempts to influence the public opinion undermine the image of the foods we produce. Today, the competition has shown that the quality of our dairy is high — customers should know that such products exist and are widely available. I guess what unites all of us is honesty, willingness to popularise the result of our common work and to convince people that everything we produce is natural, healthy and wholesome’, said Mikhail.
Certificates of merit and commemorative statuettes of the award were given to the representatives of the winning companies.
Angelina Smirnova, Head of the Marketing Department of EkoNiva-Food, expressed a deep gratitude to the organisers and shared the company’s plans for the future with the guests.
‘We are so happy to take part in such an event for the second time in a row. All our team is very thankful for the contribution the organisers make to the dairy industry. I believe that this project is very important because it helps not only to demonstrate the transparency of the manufacturers, but also to build trusting relationships with consumers. We are glad that the award ceremony takes place in Voronezh oblast as it is a native region for us. EkoNiva has two operating plants here, and what’s more, in the near future we will open a cheese factory, the products of which you will definitely like’, said the head of the marketing department.
In the personal Instagram account and on other social media, Stefan Duerr, President of EkoNiva Group, congratulated the winners on the well-earned awards and thanked all the employees of the holding.
‘It was our joint work — everyone contributed to the common success, from milkers to dairy plant operators’, emphasised Stefan Duerr. ‘Thank you so much! And bon appétit to our friends and consumers— enjoy the tasty and wholesome kefir, milk and yoghurts!’
The Golden Clover award ceremony has been hosted for the second year in a row. The idea behind it is to foster good relations between the HoReCa segment and dairy producers as well as to show consumers that the market participants are open to transparent product judging. The panel of experts includes opinion leaders, famous restaurateurs and leading chefs from France, Belarus, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Voronezh and Novosibirsk. This time, the prizes were given in the following categories: the best milk, curds, yoghurt, cheese, butter, innovation, packaging, the jury’s choice and the audience choice. Besides, in the Cheese category, the judges chose the best hard, semi-hard and soft cheeses. In 2020, the Golden Clover Award will become international — the Belarusian city Grodno will stage the event.
