EkoNiva Group, the largest raw milk producer in Russia, has begun spring field works in Voronezh and Kursk oblasts. Agricultural machinery is out in the fields in order to fertilise winter crops. If weather conditions are favourable by the end of March, the same jobs will be done in Ryazan oblast too.

New students have enrolled on the EkoNiva’s Corporate Master’s Degree Course aimed at upskilling the company’s budding specialists.

EkoNiva’s Spring Academy educational programme has started at the company's operations in Voronezh, Ryazan, Kaluga, Orenburg and Novosibirsk oblasts. This year, about 200 students from Russian higher and secondary vocational agricultural institutions will take part in the training.

EkoNiva has taken part in TatAgroExpo 2023, the 5th anniversary trade show of farming sector achievements. In Kazan, the company presented a wide range of staple crop seeds, including the in-house bred ones, and pedigree dairy cattle.

The Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo) confirms the organic status of EkoNiva enterprises in Kaluga oblast. Following the inspection carried out by the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), EkoNiva Group subsidiaries Savinskaya Niva (organic farming enterprise) and MosMedynagroprom (milk-processing plant) have proven their conformity with organic standards. The certificate of conformity is issued for three years and implies an annual inspection aimed at confirming that the enterprises meet all the requirements applicable to organic operations.

Yuriy Vasyukov, Regional Director of EkoNiva Group in Kursk region, has been honoured by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. He received a prestigious Letter of Commendation signed by Dmitriy Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture, that expresses gratitude for years of diligent and efficient work of the Director and the whole Zashchitnoye farm team in the agricultural industry.

In 2022, the gross milk yield across all EkoNiva’s farms passed a 1-million milestone for the second year running and reached record breaking 1.19 million tonnes. Over 111,200 cows in total have contributed to such an excellent result, but some outliers delivered the most outstanding performances across the holding. EkoNiva Machine Operator Vladimir Lozovoy has been awarded the title of Honoured Agricultural Worker of the Russian Federation.

Semyono-Makarovo dairy farm has hosted an offsite Bashkiria Government meeting devoted to dairy farming development. The meeting chaired by Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, has been attended by Stefan Dürr, EkoNiva Group President, Artyom Belov, Director General of the National Union of Milk Producers, members of Bashkiria Government, namely Andrey Nazarov, Prime Minister, Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, Minister of Agriculture and heads of all municipal districts.

EN Voin and EN Persey bred by EkoNiva Group’s Centre of Plant Breeding and Variety Maintenance are two new winter wheat varieties that have been entered into the State Register of Plant Breeding Achievements. In 2023, they are allowed for use in the Central Black Soil and Middle Volga regions.
