EN Argenta, EkoNiva Group's in-house bred soya bean variety, has won the first Plant Breeding Breakthrough national industry-specific prize in the Market Popularity category.

The ceremony of awarding the laureates was held as part of the Russian Field 2025 forum in Kazan. The best domestic varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops received the federal plant breeding award. The Market Popularity category featured products occupying the largest areas in Russia, according to the Federal State Budgetary Institution Rosselkhozcentre, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture.

EN Argenta has excellent technological properties, being genetically resistant to lodging, pod shattering and seed hardness and showing minimal stubble losses due to the high attachment of the lower pods. It is an intensive variety responding well to fertilisers. It was entered into the State Register of Plant Breeding Achievements Approved for Use in 2020 and has been gaining in popularity with Russian farmers ever since. In 2024, EN Argenta was ranked among the top 10 high-demand varieties in the annual rating prepared by Rosselkhozcentre. Recently, EkoNiva has been actively developing its in-house soya bean breeding programme, creating a range of varieties for different uses and agroecological zones, and EN Argenta is the first such variety.
