The Ryazan division of EkoNiva, Russia's largest dairy holding, has received the gold medal in the ‘For Achieving High Performance Indicators in the Development of Pedigree and Commercial Livestock Farming’ contest. The trade fair featured two Holstein cows named Koroleva and Kuskus. Both ‘reside’ at the Nesterovo dairy farm in the Pitelino district. The participants are the pride of the farm: well-developed, well-balanced animals with excellent udder texture and proper limb placement. Furthermore, they show high milk yields: over 305 days of lactation, Koroleva produced 13,474 kg of milk (fat 3.7%, protein 3.48%), and Kuskus produced 12,219 kg (fat 3.92%, protein 3.71%). Both Koroleva and Kuskus have calm tempers and performed excellently at the show.

EkoNiva’s Ryazan division comprises four modern dairy farms with free-stall housing. The average cattle population stands at 28,500 head, of which 13,000 are milking cows. The EkoNiva farms in the region produce about 450 tonnes of raw milk daily. The division carries out major work aimed at improving the pedigree and productive qualities of the animals. This year, it has confirmed its status of a pedigree breeding reproducer for raising Holstein cattle. Furthermore, cows from the Ryazan division have led the ranking of EkoNiva's most productive animals for two consecutive years.

‘Achieving high results is facilitated by the coordinated work of the entire team. The animals are provided with comfortable living conditions, and their diet is carefully balanced to meet their needs for macro and microelements, vitamins and minerals. All the employees work with maximum dedication and, most importantly, love what they do’, says Tatyana Arkhipkina, Chief Herd Manager and Breeder of EkoNiva's Ryazan subdivision.
