Press-centre / News,
EkoNiva Group, Russia’s largest dairy holding, intends to carry out a dairy construction investment project in Samara oblast. The corresponding cooperation agreement has been signed by Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, Governor of Samara oblast, and Stefan Dürr, President of EkoNiva Group, during St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The Group’s new dairy farm in Samara oblast will house 3,800 cows. Also, the facility will feature young dairy-breed stock raising lots for 5,100 head. According to preliminary estimates, the investment could exceed 5 billion rubles. The company plans to create around 150 new work places.
To ensure economic and production feasibility of the project, EkoNiva will focus on meeting a number of conditions. In particular, the availability of sufficient farmland, soft project financing options, market conditions for production and sale of agricultural products as well as export growth potential are required. Besides, maintenance of a favourable epizootic situation on the territory of Samara oblast and the Russian Federation on the whole is of major importance.
‘The company’s investment initiative has strategic significance for Samara oblast. It aims to strengthen the region’s food security, increase raw milk production volumes, build agricultural sector’s export capacity. The project will also promote the region’s self-sufficiency in dairy products and increase exports. We view it not merely as the construction of a dairy farm, but as a systemic contribution to strengthening the agricultural infrastructure of the entire region. The government of Samara region is committed to successful implementation of the planned initiatives’, underscored Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, Governor of Samara oblast.
‘Samara region is one of the most significant in terms of raw milk production. All the pre-requisites for dairy farming development are there. We are grateful to the region’s administration for the support and full cooperation in the implementation of our investment projects’, says Stefan Dürr, EkoNiva Group President.
EkoNiva’s subdivision in Samara oblast has been operating since 2020. The enterprise specialises in raw milk production and crop growing. With over 9,000 ha of farmland under control, the company cultivates forages as well as cash cereals, legumes and oilseed crops. Currently, an investment project for construction of a dairy farm for 3,550 cows and 5,100 head of young stock is underway near Staroye Rezyapkino, Klyavlino district. The production capacity of the facility will be approx. 40,000 t of raw milk per year.
