Boosting regional agriculture
Press-centre / News,
EkoNiva is set to enhance its impact in Kursk oblast contributing to its social and economic growth.

Ramon Schenk, Regional Director of EkoNiva Group for Voronezh and Kursk oblasts, and Gennadiy Babaskin, Acting Deputy Governor of Kursk oblast, have signed a cooperation protocol at the Russian agricultural trade fair Golden Autumn 2025 in Moscow. It was in 2019 that a collaboration agreement was first concluded between EkoNiva and the region. The new document reaffirms the commitment of both parties to cooperate further on developing the local farming sector in the long term. The company will continue to run its operations, provide jobs for local people and build a talent pool for the industry for years.
In July 2025, EkoNiva Group became a partner of Agri-Tech Classes, a new educational project in Kursk oblast, supporting three specialised classes at Zashchitnoye, Prigorodnyaya and Okhochevskaya schools in Shchigry district. The company’s experts hold lectures and workshops for the students who can also visit the company’s production facilities. After finishing school, they will have the opportunity to get EkoNiva’s scholarship to study at a university. They will do an internship at the Group’s enterprises during their studies, and following graduation, they may be employed there. In addition, for over five years, the joint Basic Department of Field Crop Breeding and Seed Production at Ivanov Kursk State Agricultural University has been preparing highly-qualified specialists in this field.

‘The development of the region’s farming sector goes hand in hand with major agricultural companies’ support’, says Gennadiy Babaskin. ‘We are confident that further cooperation with EkoNiva will bring substantial benefits for Kursk oblast – the growth of economy, employment rate and young professionals available and willing to contribute to our region’s agriculture. The agreement signed at Golden Autumn 2025 marks an important stage of our continuous joint activities.’
‘Kursk oblast is the basis for EkoNiva’s plant breeding and seed production business’, points out Ramon Schenk. ‘Here, we grow our in-house developed crop varieties: winter wheat, soya beans, lentils and peas. We are grateful to the administration of the region for the support and assistance in creating favourable conditions for our work in the rural areas.’
