Russia’s major dairy holding EkoNiva Group has once again been recognised as the undisputed leader in the rating of domestic raw milk producers. The annual ranking is compiled by analysts from the National Association of Milk Producers (Soyuzmoloko), Streda Consulting and the Milknews industry agency. EkoNiva has topped the list of the country’s 30 largest companies in terms of gross milk yield in 2025.

In January-December 2025, the Group’s farms produced 1.45 million tonnes of raw milk in physical weight, which corresponds to the total output of the companies occupying from 2nd to 7th spots in the rating combined. Compared to 2024, EkoNiva improved its result by 100,000 tonnes (2024: 1.35 million tonnes). The Group has been increasing the cow productivity by 6 to 7% year on year.

In the reporting period, the average herd size across EkoNiva’s farms exceeded 251,000 head (2024: 248,000 head; +1.2%), including 120,100 dairy cows (2024: 116,500; +3%). In August 2025, the Group commissioned Penevichi dairy in Khvastovichi district of Kaluga oblast. The unit is designed for 3,550 cows and 4,630 head of young stock. Today, EkoNiva manages a total of 42 modern dairy farms, including those under construction.

Boosting animal productivity is a top priority for the Group. Outstanding performance indicators in raw milk production are increasingly achieved through the use of state-of-the-art digital solutions, among them the company’s proprietary applications EkoFeed and EkoCrop. These have been developed to enhance feed-production efficiency and to formulate optimally balanced nutritional rations. Meanwhile, EkoNiva is running pilot projects that harness artificial intelligence and computer vision to oversee routine operational processes, such as milking.
