Zashchitnoye farming enterprise has commenced a project on precision agriculture intended for effective management of the entire production cycle. This initiative is supposed to tie together all technological processes, thus making it possible to track the key parameters, including soil condition and plantings per each square metre and quality of staff work. Vavilovets, a project named after the prominent agronomist and geneticist Nikolay Vavilov, has been carried out at EkoNiva for the second year. During this short period, it has proved its high value both for the farming students and the company. The objective of the initiative is searching for young employees and educating them.
In recent years, there is a growing tendency for Russia to increase areas of arable land and consequently gross corn harvest. The development of livestock farming triggers the market growth. In this respect Verkhniy Ikorets dairy located in Bobrov district, Voronezh oblast, has held the Innovative Field Day Corn 2019 devoted to the practical aspects of corn seed growing and production. The event was initiated by EkoNiva-Semena in association with the French National Federation of Corn Seed and Sorghum Production (FNPSMS).
On 5 September, EkoNivaAgro launched its 13th dairy for 2,800 cows located in Staraya Chigla village, Voronezh oblast.
Students of agricultural classes at Maslyanino School №1 located in Novosibirsk oblast had no time to relax during their summer holidays. The teenagers took part in the Russian Nationwide contest AgroNTI 2019 and were awarded certificates. The school, in its turn, became a participant of a social programme for sustainable development of rural areas until 2025. According to the results of the regional contest, the school will also be a resource centre of regional development in terms of technologies and personnel training.
A workshop on the issues and prospects of maize cultivation for EkoNiva-Semena specialists has been held at Zashchitnoye enterprise. It was conducted by the company’s foreign partners, namely Stefan Hemmert, Manager of Maize Sales Department of IG Pflanzenzucht, and Johann Posch, Managing Director of Saatzucht Gleisdorf and Head of Seed Growing Division at RWA.
Bavaria, the largest federal state in Germany, has always been renowned for its agricultural achievements. Even its last king Ludwig III was nicknamed ‘Dairy Farmer’ for his enthusiasm for agricultural activities. Today, Bavaria is the main dairy region in Europe, and Bavarian farmers have recently paid a business visit to Zashchitnoye farming enterprise in Kursk oblast.
