EkoNiva makes agroclass students get a deep insight into agriculture

On 12-13 May, agroclass students from schools of Liski and Bobrov districts, Voronezh oblast, took a course at EkoNiva’s enterprises. During training, 46 boys and girls get acquainted with the features of modern agriculture and intricacies of the agronomists’ and engineers’ work.

Students attend such classes at EkoNiva’s enterprises during the whole academic year. This time, they studied the basics of сrop production and sowing technologies. Andrey Netesov, the Educator of Corporate Academy, explained the details of soil preparation and sowing works to the children. Then, to test the knowledge in practice, students went to the field where the spring seeding campaign is underway.

‘The young people get acquainted with all aspects of agriculture: from veterinary medicine and zootechnics to the works in the field and construction of modern machinery’, comments Boris Morev, EkoNiva Corporate Academy Manager.

In addition to the new knowledge that students acquire during their years of study at agricultural classes, they get extra points to state exam results that give an opportunity to enter one of agricultural universities.

‘The personnel issue in agriculture remains burning. Therefore, we started collaborating with the best agricultural universities of our country. Moreover, students undertake an internship at EkoNiva enterprises. Nowadays, we cooperate with secondary schools in order to cultivate a love of agriculture’, summarises Boris Morev, EkoNiva Corporate Academy Manager.

Agroclasses is a project by EkoNiva Group of companies that was launched five years ago. It is designed for 10-11 grade students who aspire to get a degree in agriculture and then take up employment opportunities within the industry. Since the start of Agroclasses, more than 70 students have completed the course, 19 of whom are now studying at Voronezh State Agricultural University.
