EkoNiva farms harvest over 1 million tonnes of cash crops

Press-centre / News,

EkoNiva Group, Russia's largest dairy holding, has announced the preliminary results of the 2024 harvesting campaign. Its farms produced over 1 million tonnes of cash crops in standard weight, similar to last year, from an area of approximately 274,000 hectares.

So far, the total output, including seeds, obtained by EkoNiva's subdivisions stands at around 1.1 million tonnes in standard weight (2023: 1.3 million tonnes). Specifically, over 583,000 tonnes of cereals was gathered, including 51,000 tonnes of varieties developed under the Group's in-house breeding programme, approximately 130,500 tonnes of pulses and more than 51,000 tonnes of oilseeds. The sugar beet yield exceeded 303,000 tonnes.

The Group's subdivisions completed the harvesting of forage crops, having produced about 970,000 tonnes of fodder in dry matter, which is on par with last year's results (2023: 980,000 tonnes). These volumes fully cover the needs of EkoNiva’s herd and enable the company to sell the surplus to external buyers.

‘This year's overall yield was affected by challenging weather conditions, which varied across different regions. In Central Russia, our farms faced drought, while in the Volga region and Siberia, continuous rains delayed harvesting. At the same time, the weather had less impact on the forage crops, which have always been a priority for the Group’, said Aleksandr Anpilov, Director of Crop Production at EkoNiva Group.

Additionally, the Group's enterprises completed the sowing of winter crops for the 2025 harvest. Approximately 64,000 hectares of farmland across 13 regions where EkoNiva operates was planted with wheat, rye, rapeseed, triticale and annual grasses.
