Undisputed leader in raw milk production
Press-centre / News,
Russia’s largest dairy holding EkoNiva Group has topped the national annual ranking of raw milk producers for the ninth year in a row. Prepared by analysts of National Dairy Producers Union (Soyuzmoloko), Streda Consulting and Milknews industry-specific agency, the ranking recognises top-30 Russian companies based on gross milk yield in 2024.
In January – December 2024, EkoNiva produced 1.35 million tonnes of raw milk. This corresponds to the total output of the companies ranking from 2nd to 7th combined. As compared to 2023, the Group has improved its result by 90,000 t, thus breaking its own record. EkoNiva remains the only company in Russia to have passed the milestone of 1 million tonnes of raw milk per year.
In 2024, the average herd size across EkoNiva Group amounted to approx. 248,000 head (2023: 235,300 head; +5%), including 116,500 dairy cows (2023: 112,500; +4%). In Q3 2024, the Group commissioned Naratly dairy in Bugulma district, Tatarstan, with a capacity of 3,550 head of dairy cows and 5,100 head of young stock. Today, EkoNiva manages 42 modern dairies, including those under construction. The total livestock population exceeds 250,000 head, including around 120,000 dairy cows.
The increase of animal productivity is a top priority for the Group. It is the daily concerted effort of the professional team – pedigree breeders, nutritionists, herd managers, veterinarians as well as crop production specialists providing the herd with own succulent feedstuffs and roughage – that has enabled the company to achieve record performance indicators in raw milk production.
