EkoNiva Group, Russia's largest dairy holding, has announced the completion of spring field works. With winter crops and perennial grasses, pastures and meadows, the total cultivated area to be harvested in 2024 exceeded 480,000 hectares.

EkoNiva Group, Russia's largest dairy holding, has announced its operating results over January-March 2024 covering its core business segments: dairy farming, milk processing, crop growing and seed production.

EkoNiva Group, the largest raw milk producer in Russia, is currently preparing fodder for its own herd. The first cutting for haylage is underway in Voronezh subdivision of the holding. This year, over 235,000 head of dairy cattle are to be provided with forage.

Around 50 students from 17 Voronezh and Belgorod universities have visited EkoNiva’s enterprises based in Voronezh oblast. The future agronomists, herd managers, veterinarians, machine operators, engineers, technologists and tourism officers got to know all business segments of the holding through lectures arranged by the Group’s specialists and participating in an entertaining business game.

Olga Vtulkina, a calf tender, has been working at EkoNiva's enterprise in Voronezh oblast since 2010. For her labour achievements and many years of dedicated work, she has received a commendation from the President of the Russian Federation. The corresponding order was published on the Kremlin’s official website.

A significant part of accidents at enterprises is associated with the human factor: employees sometimes underestimate hazard risks. Various standards, rules and instructions are being introduced to address this problem. But a formal approach is barely adequate – everyone needs to be aware of the importance of safety and help improve it.

EkoNiva Group, the largest dairy holding in the country, has received the HR Talent Award and is thus rated as the most attractive employer in the Russian agricultural sector for the second year in a row. The ranking of the best employers is based on the results of an annual online survey prepared by ANCOR, an international staffing group, the Russia-Land of Opportunities platform and Romir research holding.

This year, the area under sugar beet in fields of EkoNiva’s subdivision in Kursk was increased by 44% from 2,700 ha to 3,900 ha. The farmers will be able to harvest around 215,000 tonnes of the crop as long as the weather allows.

The management of EkoNiva Plant Breeding and Variety Maintenance Centre has visited South American countries and learned the seed production systems in Argentina and Chile first-hand.

From February to April, EkoNiva’s employees and their families took part in fishing, volleyball, futsal, table tennis and billiards competitions as well as fun relay and ski races held at the company’s enterprises in Voronezh oblast.
