At Food Business Leaders’ Forum held as part of WorldFood Moscow 2021 trade show, Stefan Duerr, EkoNiva Group President, announced that the largest raw milk producer in Russia and Europe is currently preparing for audit of the Group’s enterprises in Kaluga and Voronezh oblasts to comply with the Halal certification requirements.
EkoNiva Group has summed up the results of 2021 season winter crops sale. The total of 590 farms received high-quality winter crop seeds in time for the sowing campaign – overall, over 15,000 tonnes. The company’s sales revenue increased by 11% compared to the previous year.
Sugar beet harvesting has begun at the farming enterprises within EkoNiva Group. The first 1,500 tonnes of root crops have already been delivered to a processing facility.
ZooVet, EkoNiva’s unique educational platform, was initiated by the company’s President Stefan Duerr in 2016. It is focused on upgrading the skills of agricultural university graduates who have chosen to work in modern production facilities. More than four hundred young specialists have received training over these five years.
On September 7, specialists of Saatzucht Bauer, one of the oldest seed growing companies in Germany, visited Zashchitnoye plant breeding and growing operation belonging to EkoNiva Group. The parties discussed the cooperation prospects in cereals and pulses breeding and seed growing. The German delegation was led by the CEO Berthold Bauer, while EkoNiva was represented by Sergey Lyashko, First Deputy General Manager, and Yuriy Vasyukov, Regional Director of Zashchitnoye operation.
Spring crop seeds of the new harvest are offered for sale. EkoNiva-Semena intends to ramp up the sales of certified spring and winter crop seeds by 40 per cent as compared to over 70,000 tonnes in the previous year.
EkoNiva employees have performed impressively well at the first Liski district Head’s Cup, a table tennis tournament.
This year, over 50 graduates of agricultural universities have joined EkoNiva Group team. Before getting down to work, they did a student internship at the enterprises of the holding.
EkoNiva is ramping up cattle sales. New contracts have been signed with customers from Novosibirsk, Kaluga and Amur oblasts, Altai area and Chechnya. The animals are already on their way to new owners.
The Russian quality control system ‘Roskachestvo’ has conducted an inspection of EkoNiva organic farm in Novodugino village, Smolensk oblast.
